extract1

A simple cut in the timeline means you are just cutting out that part. When you cut, the other clips in the timeline stay in place there is just a gap in between them. A ripple edit is when you take off that clip and the whole thing comes together. You do this by clicking the right button and clicking ripple delete. After you do that, the other clips to the right come together leaving no gap. Lifting and extracting are two ways to cut the clips out of the timeline. To do this above the timeline there are buttons and they sort of look like three squares one is for lifting the other is for extracting. Lifting is when you just lift it up out of the timeline and it leaves a gap between the clips. As for extracting you extract the part of the clip you dont want and it doesnt leave a gap it actually brings the clips together. This is an example of extract edit. I decided to edit where i did because it didnt look to bad it went together pretty well. It may look like i cut it from there to there but overall i thought it was a good spot to do so.
